This play has gone up another huge notch (I have a spy in the rehearsal room as I cannot be present), if this is possible. The music is being synchronised and the microphone\u2019s are being worn and this is enough to increase the level of the quality of the performances.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

There\u2019s organisation and information flying around for the dress rehearsals, which for me brings back very happy memories of my theatre days. Dress rehearsals are where it all becomes very real. Adverts are being promoted and posters created. We are just moments away from this spectacle.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Yesterday was by far the best session as they stopped the teasing and \u2018playing\u2019, and it was unusually quiet in the rehearsal space once they got going. They moved through the scene, in order, like they were on a mission.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
As we all know, the walk with the cross to the crucifixion is powerful, and this become my favourite scene last year. Jesus walking with the heavy cross whilst being beaten is one thing, but this is Cianciana and the crucifixion takes place at the top of town and means this walk continues uphill. At rehearsals they even practice the street scenes to an amazing level of detail and this walk up the hill is also rehearsed to a professional level.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This is it\u2026 the last few runs through before the audience arrive and the streets of Cianciana become a land from more than two thousand years ago.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I have been away from rehearsals for a week and am so excited to see all the characters in costume after seeing them for so long in modern day garb.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

There\u2019s just one week to go and I get the joy of witnessing the final few days before we \u2018go live\u2019. I am so excited to see it again next week and am so very grateful for the patience of this community who have taken me in, and made me feel part of a fabulous team.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Three months on, I have the benefit of improved Italian (thanks to seeing this script and hearing the language nearly every day) and being included and immersed in such an important part of this town\u2019s year. I have new friends and a new insight into Sicilian life and to all these people I give my blessings and my gratitude.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

GLI ULTIMI GIORNI DI PROVE<\/div>\n
Questa rappresentazione \u00e8 salita di livello enormemente (ho una spia nella sala prove poich\u00e8 non sono potuta essere presente), se anche fosse possibile raggiungere un livello pi\u00f9 alto.<\/div>\n
E\u2019 stata aggiunta la musica e ora vengono indossati i microfoni durante le prove e questo \u00e8 sufficiente per aumentare il livello della qualit\u00e0 delle interpretazioni.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

C’\u00e8 una grande organizzazione dietro e circolano in giro molte informazioni sulle prove degli abiti di scena, e tutto questo mi riporta a ricordi molto felici del mio passato in teatro. Le prove degli abiti rendono tutto molto reale. Gli annunci sono stati pubblicizzati e i manifesti stampati. Siamo a pochi giorni di distanza da questo spettacolo.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ieri \u00e8 stata di gran lunga la sessione migliore, infatti hanno smesso di scherzare tra di loro e di \u201cgiocare\u201d, ed il clima era insolitamente tranquillo sul palco una volta che hanno cominciato.<\/div>\n
Si sono succeduti nella scena, in ordine, come se fossero in missione.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Come tutti sappiamo, il cammino con la croce verso la crocifissione \u00e8 potente, e questa \u00e8 diventata la mia scena preferita gi\u00e0 l’anno scorso. Ges\u00f9 che ha camminato con la croce pesante mentre viene picchiato \u00e8 una cosa, ma questa \u00e8 Cianciana, e la crocifissione si svolge in cima alla citt\u00e0 e questo significa che questo cammino \u00e8 tutto in salita. Sia le scene lungo la strada che la salita vengono provate con un livello di professionalit\u00e0 incredibile.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ed eccoci\u2026 gli ultimi giri prima che il pubblico arrivi e le strade di Cianciana diventino come una terra da pi\u00f9 di duemila anni fa.<\/div>\n
Sono stata lontana dalle prove per una settimana e sono cos\u00ec entusiasta di vedere tutti i personaggi in costume dopo averli visti per cos\u00ec tanto tempo in abiti moderni.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ancora una settimana e avr\u00f2 la gioia di assistere alle ultime prove prima di \u201candare in diretta\u201d. Sono cos\u00ec entusiasta di vederlo di nuovo la prossima settimana e sono molto grato per la pazienza di questa comunit\u00e0 che mi ha accolto e mi ha fatto sentire parte di una squadra favolosa.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Dopo tre mesi dopo, ho avuto il beneficio di migliorare l’italiano (dopo aver visto il copione e sentito la lingua quasi ogni giorno) e di essere inclusa e immersa in una parte cos\u00ec importante dell’anno di questa citt\u00e0. Ho nuovi amici e una nuova visione della vita siciliana e a tutte queste persone do la mia benedizione e la mia gratitudine.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
